Final walkthrough checklist (free printable)
A free one-page printable for painting contractors: room-by-room review, touch-up list, close-out checks and homeowner sign-off.

Final walkthrough checklist
- Room-by-room grid for walls, ceilings, trim, doors and cabinets
- Touch-up list with who fixes it and by when
- Colors-used record to leave with the homeowner
- Final balance math, payment method and sign-off
How to use it
- Before you arrive: fill in the job details and bring the accepted quote and any approved changes.
- Walk each room together: compare the work with the approved scope from normal viewing positions and lighting.
- Be specific about touch-ups: "Small missed spot above the closet door in Bedroom 2," not "fix bedroom wall." Take a photo when it helps.
- Close out: confirm the balance and payment method, and both sign. The sheet records the walkthrough; it doesn't change the quote.
If the homeowner asks for work outside the approved scope, price it separately with a painting change order before doing it.
What to say at the start
We've finished the work in the quote and the changes we approved. Let's walk through each area together. If you see a touch-up, we'll write it down here and confirm who will handle it and when.

From room review to closeout
- Step 1 of 3
Walk together
Review each agreed room and surface with the homeowner.
- Step 2 of 3
Record open items
Give each touch-up a location, owner and agreed follow-up date.
- Step 3 of 3
Confirm the next step
Record sign-off, any remaining work and the agreed balance/payment plan.
A walkthrough item is not automatically new scope. Price and approve added work separately.
